Description
Zen Perfume by Shiseido. Zen is a women’s floral woody musk perfume with citrus, floral, patchouli, fresh spicy, woody, and fruity main accords. It works well for day wear during the spring, summer, and fall months. Developed by perfumer Michel Almairac of Robertet in 2007, the scent, which is the new version of the original 1965 fragrance, has long-lasting longevity and moderate sillage. Grapefruit, pineapple, orange, bergamot, and rose top notes open this fragrance, leading to middle notes of freesia, orris, red apple, hyacinth, lily-of-the-valley, violet, gardenia, and lotus. Patchouli, cedar, incense, amber, pine, and musk base notes close this composition.
Shiseido was founded by Arinobu Fukuhara in 1872. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the company is considered one of the world’s oldest cosmetics companies. It produces skincare, cosmetics, hair care, and fragrances. Initially known as the Shiseido Pharmacy, the brand added a soda fountain, which became a restaurant that introduced ice cream to Japan. The company expanded through Asia in 1957, then through the United States and Europe in the 1960s.
